LANI SILK sells premium 100% Mulberry Silk sleepwear to US consumers. Despite excellent products and strong branding, their Shopify store had critical performance issues threatening conversion rates and Google search rankings.
Key issues identified in the audit:
• Mobile LCP: 6.9s — 2.8x slower than Google's 2.5s threshold
• Total Blocking Time: 1,130ms mobile / 1,500ms desktop — severe JavaScript blocking
• Speed Index: 15.8s on mobile — page appears incomplete for nearly 16 seconds
• GTmetrix Grade: D — only 57% Performance and 2.2s Total Blocking Time
Our Approach — Optimization Under Real Conditions
Velra Media optimized LANI SILK's Shopify store while preserving all brand visuals and live UX elements — including the promotional popup and chat widget. No content was removed to artificially inflate scores.
What We Did:
• Full Lighthouse audit across mobile and desktop using PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix
• Converted all hero and product images to WebP — reducing file sizes without quality loss
• Eliminated render-blocking JavaScript — reducing Total Blocking Time from 1,130ms to 0ms
• Deferred non-critical third-party scripts: chat widget, analytics, marketing pixels
• Optimized LCP hero image with preload hints and proper sizing attributes
• Resolved Cumulative Layout Shift caused by web fonts and dynamic content
• Cleaned unused Shopify app scripts and CSS from the critical render path
